Challenge

Presenting a comprehensive retrospective of Jack Davis required translating a lifetime of artistic achievement into a coherent, accessible exhibition narrative while honoring the historical significance of the artist in advance of his posthumous centennial.

Solution

I developed a chronological exhibition framework that contextualized Jack Davis’s life, work, and cultural impact through carefully sequenced artworks, archival materials, and interpretive copy. The exhibition design integrated curatorial narrative, spatial planning, and visual tone to guide visitors through key moments in Davis’s career and legacy.

My Role

I served as lead curator and exhibition lead. I defined the exhibition theme and structure, authored the exhibition copy, selected wall color and artwork placement, assembled the archival reference library, and led the physical installation of the exhibition from planning through completion.
